BlackRock’s Fink, Temasek’s Pillay on Climate Investing

Apr.12 — Breaking the world’s addiction to hydrocarbons requires more innovation. That’s why BlackRock and Singapore’s Temasek Holdings formed a new firm, Decarbonization Partners, to invest in startups with the potential to dramatically reduce the world’s reliance on fossil fuels. In this interview, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink and Temasek International CEO Dilhan Pillay explain what drove them to form an asset-management partnership, how it’ll operate and what kinds of technologies will be priorities. They speak exclusively to Bloomberg’s Erik Schatzker.
